Overview
Achievement First is one of the first Charter Schools of its kind in the country. Established in New Haven in 2003, it now operates a network of 17 schools in Bridgeport, Hartford and Brooklyn, NY. The school's mission is to close the economic gap in inner cities by addressing the achievement gap in schools. AF's methods have proven astonishingly successful and they wanted to build a system that would help them easily transfer their methodologies to other school systems nationwide. AF came to Acsys with a need to reduce the time-consuming manual processes that weigh administrators and teachers down.
Solution
Acsys helped Achievement First conceive and build a robust, multi-faceted application that automates the wide array of tasks associated with tracking, testing and measuring the progress of AF's students—from creating tests to generating progress reports. While the underlying technology is complex, the experience is exceptionally simple. Today, teachers and administrators can perform time-saving tasks such as scanning test results via optical mark recognition and generate real-time reports that help teachers and Achievement First's administrators measure progress and optimize their curriculum on a continual basis.
