Acsys can work with you to analyze your need and build the application for you, or work as an extension of your internal technical team. In addition, we will work to see if there is an existing product (such as a CMS platform like SharePoint, Vignette or Drupal) that can serve as a foundation for the development effort so the application does not need to be built entirely from the ground up.

PHP

Have you ever wondered what high profile web sites, such as Wikipedia, Facebook, Flickr, and Yahoo, were developed in? These sites and many millions other were implemented with PHP and run on LAMP - Linux, Apache, MySQL, PHP, or similar PHP runtime environment.

PHP is a server-side scripting language that was created more than 10 years ago. Unlike other languages that can be used for desktop, mobile, or other development, such as Java, Perl, Python, etc, PHP was built specifically for the web development. The programming language is tightly integrated with web browser technologies (HTML, CSS, and JavaScript) and allows developers to quickly create web sites.

Acsys is part of the PHP community and contributes to open source projects. Acsys has experience in different PHP web frameworks (Zend, Symfony, other MVC frameworks) and can help with your PHP project.

Open Source

Open source custom web application development has typically meant LAMP - Linux, Apache, MySQL and PHP (or Perl or Python). However, over the last several years other open source solutions such as Ruby on Rails and Django have emerged. The main benefit to open source technology is that the cost of ownership is lower; there are little or no licensing costs. However that is also to their detriment, you have no framework vendor to call for support. But there is where Acsys shines - we have the capabilities to support existing open source solutions as well as building new ones.
