Acsys Helps Horace Mann Social Program Receive National Accolades

In September 2011, Acsys Interactive worked with client Horace Mann, an insurance and financial services company for educators, and DonorsChoose.org, an online charity connecting the world to classrooms in need. Together, an innovative and highly successful National Facebook Campaign called The Classroom Project was created. The Classroom Project offered educators across America the opportunity to submit their personal classroom projects on the Horace Mann Facebook page to become eligible for up to $500 in funding.  

Social Eyes, the financial industry news source, mentioned The Classroom Project Facebook Campaign as having the highest engagement of any Facebook page in the entire insurance industry during the month of December. "This becomes particularly impressive when you consider what Allstate, Geico and others are spending on their media efforts," adds Mike Stutman, SVP of Strategy and Innovation at Acsys Interactive. Across classrooms throughout the country, the record-breaking effort impacted over 25,000 students and generated a substantial amount of donations towards teacher's projects. The campaign's results exceeded expectations across a variety of metrics:

  • Facebook likes increased by 125%
  • Received the highest normalized engagement rate (13%) in the insurance industry during month of December
  • The number of people who were sharing Horace Mann's Facebook content daily increased by 172% during the month of December as compared to the month of November
  • Overall audience Reach increased by 159% during the important two weeks leading up the educators Chistmas recess
