Acsys Interactive is pleased to announce the installation of a Web Application Firewall (WAF) at its state-of-the-art hosting facility. This WAF will provide real time, continuous protection for subscribed Acsys Interactive hosting clients by detecting any abnormal inbound or outbound traffic. The addition of WAF represents a great enhancement to the world-class Site Vulnerability Protection Service (SVPS) suite and exemplifies its strong commitment to continuous security improvement.

The ubiquitous use of web applications in today's wired world exposes hosting clients to greater levels of risk than ever before. Network security solutions provide some level of protection, but even when secure coding and penetration (PEN) testing are performed, these solutions are not security panaceas. Adding a WAF to supply a comprehensive combination of positive and negative security models, application defect detection capabilities, and SSL decryption technologies provides more complete protection for communicating, computing and processing in a hosted environment.

The Acsys Interactive WAF will fortify hosting services with customized, behavior-based application security and defect detection. For subscription holders, the WAF is deployed out-of-line and presents full blocking of detected attacks, event analysis and reporting capabilities, even as it remains non-intrusive to authorized users and functions. Any activity that is anomalous, but not outright barred, is passed through further testing, like signature verification, protocol violation, and usage analysis, to determine if it constitutes a threat. The WAF also automates web application compliance to regulation and industry standards and bridges the gap between security and development by detailing sources of vulnerability for quick remediation.
