The Hartford Courant Taps Acsys, Inc. to Design Two New, Seperate Web Sites
05.03.05 Acsys, Inc., a full service consulting firm that helps organizations achieve their business goals using interactive technologies, today announced the successful completion of two new, seperate Web designs for Connecticut's largest newspaper,
The Hartford Courant. Launched in February, Acsys designed the look and feel for the new site called Courant.com as the online home of
The Hartford Courant newspaper, containing up-to-the-minute local, national and international news, along with sports, business, opinion, and lifestyle content, in addition to jobs, homes, cars and other classified listings. Acsys also redesigned the popular entertainment site, CTnow.com, containing detailed information on movies, music, dining, nightlife, and a variety of other events across Connecticut.
The design of both the CTnow.com and Courant.com sites allowed Acsys to develop new user interface designs that are optimized for enterainment and news content. The new CTnow.com design lets users quickly find entertainment opportunities based on date, event type and other criteria, while preserving the functional and aesthetic cohesiveness of the site. The new Courant.com interface is optimized to efficiently present news to users and to establish Courant.com as a distinct online brand. In addition, Acsys enabled both sites to have cross-links to each other and ensured that both were fully integrated with the content management solution used by Tribune Media.
"Through the division of the CTnow.com franchise into two distinct sites, we've enabled the
Courant to expand their portfolio of marketing opportunities offered to advertisers, providing them with more precise targeting capabilities," said Rob Grant, Vice President of Sales and Marketing at Acsys, Inc. "This approach will allow each site to offer more focused content in a more streamlined environment and provide a better user experience."
