Acsys Launches New Web Site for Farmington Public Schools

12.16.04

Acsys has announced the launch of a newly redesigned Web site for Farmington Public Schools. The launch of this site marks the beginning of a larger initiative, including a new Web site for the Town of Farmington, scheduled to launch in the first quarter of 2005. Acsys is working to create a cohesive online image across Town of Farmington departments and will extend fundamental design elements of the Schools site to the Town Web site.

The new Farmington Public Schools Web site represents a major step forward in terms of design and usability. The new Web site architecture organizes information more intuitively and makes more information available online than the previous site. Through the use of MailManager, an email marketing product developed by Acsys, the school system is achieving increased communication efficiency and cost savings. Site visitors can now opt-in to receive lunch menus, school closing announcements, school newsletters, and related information via email.

A highlight of the site within the school system is the secure curriculum database. This has proven very helpful to teachers who can now login to the application and search the Web-based repository for important curriculum documents. This immediate access to curriculum information has improved the efficiency and accuracy with which educators, especially new and substitute teachers can prepare lesson plans.

"These two sites are raising the bar for municipal Web sites based on design aesthetics, usability, and quality of information provided," said Acsys President and CTO Stan Valencis. "This has been a great opportunity for us to leverage our experience to benefit the town in which we conduct business."
