Acsys Wins American Marketing Association Mark of Excellence Award for Internet Marketing
02.19.02 Acsys today announced that it has won the prestigious Mark of Excellence award from the Connecticut Chapter of the American Marketing Association. The annual award recognizes outstanding marketing work in six categories, including Internet marketing.
Acsys was selected for the Mark of Excellence in recognition of a highly successful Internet marketing campaign it developed and implemented for White Flower Farm, the legendary garden retailer based in Litchfield County, Conn. The campaign involved mining a database of catalogue customers to identify past purchasers of specific early-blooming plants and contacting them by email with a promotion featuring complementary plants that extend the garden's season of interest. The campaign was unique in that it used precise targeting and messaging rather than price discounts to yield a very high response rate.
"This campaign didn't just generate sales, it generated profits, " said Renée Beaulieu, White Flower Farm's Internet Content Coordinator. "From a cost-benefit perspective, it was a very successful promotion."
Stan Valencis, President of Acsys, said that "many companies are looking for ways to stimulate sales without incurring high marketing costs or undermining profitability. Through careful targeting and creative Internet-based promotions, Acsys is helping clients like White Flower Farm do exactly that."
A Mark of Excellence award ceremony will be hosted by the American Marketing Association on March 21, 2002, at the Adams Mill Restaurant in Manchester, Conn. Tickets to the event are available to members of the American Marketing Association for $50, and to non-members for $70.
