Acsys wins first Fast 50 Award
06.29.01 Acsys, the e-business development company, has been named to the prestigious Deloitte & Touche and Connecticut Technology Council Fast 50 Program for Connecticut, a listing of the 50 fastest growing technology companies in Connecticut. Rankings are based on five-year percentage revenue growth (1996-2000). These companies, which impact a broad spectrum of industries, are defying conventional wisdom by consistently expanding their revenues over a substantial period of time.
Acsys President Stan Valencis credits the company's focus on building e-business applications that cut costs and grow revenues with the company's significant revenue growth over the past five years. "Since we help organizations make and save money in very significant ways, our clients are moving forward with projects despite the current economic climate," Valencis said.
"In an era when technology companies seem to appear and disappear overnight, making the Deloitte & Touche Fast 50 is a testament to a company's leadership and its ability to not only have the right solution for that moment in time, but also the vision that allows growth over five years. Acsys has proven to have the qualifications to succeed, and we at Deloitte & Touche salute its accomplishments," said David Carver, partner-in-charge, Deloitte & Touche Technology and Communications Group, Connecticut.
"Through the Fast 50 program, Deloitte & Touche has been honoring the growth of Connecticut's technology industry for five years," said David Carver, partner-in-charge, Deloitte & Touche Technology and Communications Group, Connecticut. "As competition remains tough, Acsys has proven the ability to sustain its business, and we are happy to support their efforts by recognizing their achievements and continued growth."
"The technology sector continues to transform the Connecticut economy, and will be a primary driver in rejuvenating the marketplace as we move forward," said Michael Theodore, President of the Connecticut Technology Council.
To qualify for the Fast 50, companies must have had operating revenues of at least $50,000 in 1996 and $1,000,000 in 2000, must be a public or private technology company headquartered in Connecticut. The Fast 50 defines a "technology company" as a business that produces technology, manufactures a technology product, or devotes a high percentage of effort to research and development of technology.
Winners of the 22 regional Fast 50 programs in the United States and Canada are automatically entered in the Deloitte & Touche Technology Fast 500 program, which ranks the nation's top 500 fastest growing technology companies.
